Job Description Role Summary: The Lead Network Planning Engineer (Gas) will play a crucial role in planning and optimizing the gas infrastructure serving a substantial customer base across western Melbourne, Geelong, and parts of western Victoria. This role focuses on developing and maintaining short and long-term system plans for gas assets, ensuring network performance aligns with service standards, and supporting network augmentation and renewal projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain network models using designated software to support business decisions.Oversee Network Capacity and SCADA Strategies, and manage Isolation and System Contingency Plans.Address performance gaps between actual and target network performance.Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) metrics.Create and present business cases for network augmentation and renewal.Coordinate Winter Preparedness activities and maintain awareness of relevant legislation and policies.Collaborate with stakeholders to share insights and adapt to changes that support network maintenance and energy transition. The Successful Applicant Skills and Experience:
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Synergi Gas, GIS, and SCADA systems. Working knowledge of fluid flow mechanics in pipelines and understanding of complex technical diagrams and rotating plant equipment.Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Gas Distribution System Code and relevant regulations.Analytical Skills: Ability to undertake comprehensive planning, assess network capabilities, identify emerging issues, and develop contingency plans.Communication: Strong ability to simplify complex engineering concepts for diverse audiences and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.Qualifications: Relevant Engineering qualification or closely related STEM area. Professional Engineers Registration is mandatory.
