As the Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer you will head up the team managing the complete engineering product life cycle for the rail projects.
Austcorp Executive are partnering with an ASX listed Mining & Technology company who are globally recognised for their innovative products and engineering solutions that service the mining industry sector. As a result of continued growth in Western Australia, we are recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer.

As the Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer your track record would include: Demonstrated lead level experience specifying, designing, or testing Rolling Stock Mechanical systems such as bogies, structures, noise, vibrations, mechanical sub-systems, and dynamics. Proven working knowledge of industry standards from AS/RISSB and EN series. Lead level awareness of mechanical design, manufacture and test obligations relating to environmental performance, dynamics, RAMS, SIL, and the demonstration of safety SFAIRP. Self-motivated, with capacity to work both independently and as part of a team and under the pressure of deadlines. Responsible for managing the mechanical systems aspect of the project, including defining project schedules, allocating resources, tracking progress, and managing risks. Ensure the mechanical systems are developed within budget and meet project milestones. Responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of engineers working on various mechanical systems within the locomotive. This involves guiding the team in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical components and systems. Lead or support the design and development of various mechanical systems within the locomotive, such as the pneumatic, layout, structural system, braking system, suspension system, HVAC system, and others. This includes directing design concept scope, detail and conduct of analyses, simulations, and tests to ensure that the systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Finalising with production and commissioning support to other teams. Qualifications and Skills: Mechanical Engineering degree (ideally certified by engineers Australia). A proven track record leading a Mechanical Engineering team. 10+ years of rail and/or heavy mobile equipment industry experience. Australian mining experience. A proven track record of managing a complete engineering product life cycle. This is an amazing opportunity to work across a complete engineering product life cycle from conceptualisation through to market deployment, you will be embedded in the R&D stage as well as working with legacy products to optimise their performance on a global scale.
