Lead Mechanical Engineer About the Opportunity Aussie Fluid Power is looking for a passionate Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-discipline engineering team based in North Coogee.
As our Lead Mechanical Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our engineering projects while driving growth and innovation.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include: Design hydraulic/process packages including skids, lifting frames, reservoirs, walkways, instrumentation panels, tubing/piping and various components bracketry.
Technically support the team to deliver projects on time, on spec and within budget.
Work as part of the engineering leadership team to guide and assist engineers with performing calculations, mechanical design and producing fabrication and mechanical drawings.
Provide expertise and assistance to investigate and resolve technical and commercial matters.
Vendor and sub-contractor identification, selection and management, as required.
Provide workshop instructions, documentation and assist workshop team during assembly and testing stages.

About You Relevant qualifications and a minimum of five years' experience in mechanical engineering.
Experience in designing and manufacturing Fluid/Gas Process Packages as well as offshore oil & gas knowledge and the ability to manage a small design team is advantageous.
Proficiency in Auto CAD LT and Autodesk Inventor (or Solid Works).
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications to ensure compliance.
Understand engineering design and risk analysis steps/meetings.
Proficient in producing fabrication drawings and specifications for sub-contractors.
Knowledge of various manufacturing and fabrication practices (e.g.
welding, NDT, machining, painting, passivation).
Proficiency in performing stress analysis on mechanical structures, tanks, pipework or pressure vessels.
