About the role We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Perth based team. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the detailed design process of mechanical components and systems across a variety of mineral processing projects.
Lead and manage a team of mechanical designers in the detailed design phase of engineering projects. Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineers, project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives. Develop detailed design plans, schedules, and resource allocations to meet project milestones and deliverables. Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of mechanical designs to ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements. Utilise CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, assemblies and drawings of mechanical components and systems. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Demonstrate exceptional inter-discipline collaboration to facilitate the review and approval of design documentation, drawings and specifications for accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Identity and mitigate risks and challenges through proactive problem solving and innovative solutions.
