The Lead Instructional Coach will oversee a team of instructional leaders and ensure the continuity and progression of learning across K-6 and the transition into secondary school. This role will bridge learning across stages and will involve coordination with pedagogy coaches to align literacy, numeracy, EALD inquiry learning, wellbeing and the St Luke's 6 Pillars of Learning, creating a seamless experience for students.
Reporting to the Heads of School K-4 and 5-8, and ultimately directed by the principal, the successful applicant will ensure best practices in quality teaching and learning, inquiry-based learning, and team teaching are consistent and effective, across all stages, facilitating smooth transitions between each stage.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of instructional leaders (K-6), ensuring alignment of teaching, learning and wellbeing practices, inquiry learning, and the implementation of high-yield literacy and numeracy strategies.Ensure a cohesive learning experience from kindergarten through the transition into secondary school, aligning pedagogy, inquiry-based learning, and assessment practices across stages.Work closely with instructional coaches to implement a unified approach to inquiry learning and team teaching strategies, ensuring professional learning is relevant and impactful.Lead the development and integration of inquiry learning methodologies, fostering curiosity, problem-solving, and independent thinking across all learning areas.Promote and support the use of team teaching to enhance collaborative planning, co-teaching, and reflective practices across teaching teams.Ensure the instructional leaders promote evidence-based practices, co-plan with teaching teams and leaders and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.Use data from internal and external assessments to guide instructional decisions and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and learning models.Plan and lead professional development initiatives that target specific needs in teaching practices and mentor leaders and teachers across all stages.Lead workshops for staff, parents, and students to support the school's educational mission, and develop instructional materials such as videos.Actively coach instructional leaders around their practice and track the impact of coaching on student learning.Work with senior leadership to refine and implement policies that ensure quality learning growth and support student transitions.Other duties as required by the Principal Leader.Role Requirements:Leads instructional change, including the integration of inquiry learning, team teaching, and managing transitions across stages.Develops and applies deep knowledge of instructional strategies, literacy and numeracy development, inquiry learning methodologies, and student wellbeing.Upholds the mission of Catholic education and the ethos of St Luke's Catholic College.Builds effective partnerships with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders through strong communication skills, and coaches and mentors educators to enhance teaching practices.Please note that the nature, priorities and placement of this role, in consultation with the person serving in the role, may change over time.
As a guide, the successful applicant could be expected to uphold the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at either the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher level.
