The incumbent will be central to Tronox's planned market expansions and will assist with all stages of technical development and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in hydrometallurgical operations, with particular experience in Rare Earth processing preferred. There is considerable scope for the role to grow with Tronox's involvement in this new business.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as the central expert for rare earths hydrometallurgical processing. Assist with all stages of technical development and commissioning for new projects. Lead and mentor junior engineers in project development and execution. Develop and review detailed business cases and present them to stakeholders. Monitor and improve operational plant processes. About you: Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering or a similar technical background. Experience in the rare earths industry with operating sites, including design, commissioning, upgrading, and day-to-day operations. Deep understanding of methods for cracking rare earth minerals, purification, separation, and radiation management. Extensive technical and operational engineering experience. Experience in engineering specification, design, and review from a client company perspective. New plant commissioning experience. Deep experience in hydrometallurgical processes, preferably rare earth-related; other sulfate-based leaching and purification processes are highly regarded. Experience in plant ramp-up, problem identification, and resolution. Good understanding of process safety principles and related risk assessment and engineering approaches. Statistical data analysis for plant improvement and experimental design. Operational plant monitoring and improvement techniques. Process modeling experience is an advantage.
