Why Your Role Matters The Lead, Graduate Futures plays a key role within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Success Portfolio, Experience Pillar, Employability Theme in providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure a cohesive, comprehensive, and coordinated student and alumni journey to help student realise their unique potential at UNSW.
The role supports the Head of Employability in the development and delivery of the UNSW Employability Strategy, communications plan, and flagship initiatives – including by cultivating relationships and exercising influence across Divisional and Faculty organisational units.
The role leads reporting and performance improvement efforts for UNSW Employability aligned with the UNSW Employability Strategy, including institutional analytics, reporting, submissions, and initiatives for QS Employability, the Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS), and related institutional metrics.
The role reports to the Head of Employability and has three direct reports.
Main responsibilities Summary Provide high-level advice and support: offer strategic advice, analysis, and recommendations to the Head of Employability to foster a culture of performance and continuous improvement Lead strategic and operational activities: oversee key initiatives and ensure the success of UNSW Employability by implementing the UNSW Employability Strategy and related plans Enhance student and alumni journey: create innovative and impactful content and digital engagement initiatives to help students realize their potential at UNSW Support strategy implementation: assist in the development and delivery of new programs and initiatives, and continuously improve existing ones Lead analytics and performance improvement: manage analytics, reporting, and performance initiatives across various metrics like QS Employability and the Graduate Outcomes Survey Manage special projects: oversee special projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are on time and within budget Oversee communications and events: implement the communications plan and manage content across digital and print media, as well as organize events for UNSW Employability Who You Are We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW's vision and values, with demonstrated success to work independently, and as a leader, undertaking multiple projects.
We'd love you to come equipped with: Extensive experience at a senior level in managing strategic initiatives and the implementation of programs, including innovation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
Higher Education background will be highly regarded but isn't essential Demonstrated leadership skills, coaching, developing multi-disciplinary teams with extensive operational management skills including planning and priority setting Significant experience in developing, delivering and continually improving programs, processes, and systems High-level leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority Significant experience in developing, delivering and continually improving programs, processes, and systems Demonstrated high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced, including significant experience in writing high-quality analysis, submissions, reports and recommendations Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours.
The role offers flexible working arrangements (3 days in, 2 days home); whilst you may see this role advertised more broadly, the role is based in Sydney (Kensington Campus).
