Lead – Environmental Sustainability Salary: $99,364 - $113,228 p.a. plus 11% Super Permanent/Full-Time Access to Leaseback Vehicle About the role This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Nowra Administration Building. The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Duties Reporting directly to the Manager – Environmental Services, the focus of this position is to: Develop and implement an environmental strategy for Council to delineate proactive environmental outcomes to ensure the social, environmental, and economic values of the Shoalhaven are adequately balanced. Develop, implement, and report on environment and sustainability plans, policies, programs, and procedures that align to Council's Community Strategic Plan; in consultation with Councillors, staff and relevant stakeholders – this includes Council's Sustainability and Climate Policy and Action Plan, and Adaptation Plan. Lead the planning, preparation, and implementation of approved environment and sustainability projects to address issues such as energy, emissions, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, water, biodiversity, and waste, including proposals for appropriate budgets. Administration of Council's Revolving Energy Fund includes identification of eligible energy efficiency projects. Coordination of Council's Environmental Awareness Working Group and environmental engagement program including the development and implementation of training and awareness programs for the community and Council staff. Skills & Experience To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess: Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position in either Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Education, Engineering or similar. Demonstrated experience in scoping, facilitating, project managing and delivering sustainability and environmental projects or programs in relevant areas such as energy management, climate change risk/mitigation/adaptation, waste minimisation/recycling and/or water efficiency. Class C Driver's Licence.
