Job DescriptionLocation: Melbourne | Eastern MetropolitanJob type: Full Time - Fixed TermOrganisation: Department of Transport and PlanningSalary: $109,730 - $132,764Occupation: ProjectsReference: 5819About the RoleThis is a Fixed term role until 30th June 2025In line with corporate objectives, the primary responsibility of this role will be to lead asset integration programs and activities for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and will provide specialist and highly influential advice within DoT, local and state Governments on best ITS practices, asset integration, management, and maintenance. This is to ensure that assets delivered by projects meet or exceed the level of expectations required for handover and that these assets are integrated into maintenance contracts. The role is expected to work under minimum supervision to provide optimum solutions, resolve problems, negotiate with contractors, internal and external stakeholders, managing contract variations, project manage asset delivery and handover programs, budgets and finances, defects and warranties, work to tight deadlines, manage expectations and people.Position AccountabilitiesApply well developed leadership and specialist skills for developing, running and coordinating ITS asset integration programs to enable ongoing asset maintenance, in line with corporate objectives; Project management and business case development, analysis, project scoping, design investigations, obtaining permits and approvals, etc.Provide specialist and highly influential advice within DoT, local and state Governments, on best practice related to ITS asset integration, management, and maintenance matters.Provide technical reviews and expert advice to internal and external stakeholders including design, specifications reviews, project options, scope, requirements for asset integration with central ITS platforms, during various phases of project delivery (preconstruction, construction, commissioning, handover and asset integration); Provide innovative solutions to reduce manual work and backlogs.Exercise independent judgement in planning, work and resource scheduling matters to desired business objectives; develop and maintain financial/cost controls, scoping, coordinating and planning relating to ITS assets.Resolve complex contractual and asset integration issues as well as predicting and addressing broader project and stakeholder issues; Develop, establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, in order to progress work, influence and/or impact business area decisions.Lead, manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team and committees, to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and business objectives are met; Assist in building team resilience, workload distribution and resource building.The ideal candidate will excel in Asset Creation and Integration, working closely with senior stakeholders to leverage opportunities, perform cost-benefit analyses, and lead complex projects that align with the Victorian Transport System. They will possess strong Communication Skills, adapting key messages to influence diverse audiences, including senior management and government entities. With proven Team Management abilities, they will strategically plan and motivate teams to deliver high-quality results. Their Contract Management experience ensures adept handling of complex agreements and supplier relations, while their Business & Commercial Acumen supports sound expenditure decisions. A leader in Innovation and Continuous Improvement, they will foster a culture of creativity within the team. Skilled in Stakeholder Management, they'll resolve issues and build strong relationships to meet project goals.
