Lead Engineer

Find jobs in the automotive retail industryWhat you'll do: Technically lead large projects, or multiple small projects.Provide technical leadership to Project Engineers.Be responsible for planning the engineering tasks, management of internal functions and generation of engineering management plans.Engage with customers to ensure a solution meets their expectations and communicate the customer expectations internally.Plan and present engineering design gate reviews, engage with internal functions (e.g. airworthiness, safety) to ensure the project delivery milestones are fully met.Manage technical risks and opportunities.Execute all stages of system lifecycle (requirements management, validation, systems design, development, integration, verification and qualification per Eaton process and customer requirements).Manage engineering change to ensure system integrity throughout the lifecycle and ensuring traceability of all key design decisions.Provide support and guidance in all areas of the product lifecycle.Liaise with the engineering leadership and programme management teams to ensure the project is adequately resourced and support to identify any potential capability shortfalls.Skills: Good communication skills, both verbal and written to interface with customers and internal stakeholders.Self-motivated and proactive, using both your own technical skills and teamwork to find resolutions to issues.Experience of engineering lifecycle and design reviews.Experience in technical report writing.Comfortable presenting technical content at all levels across the business.Indirect or direct management experience.Previous engineering sign off for documents is expected, but not required.Experience working with project management in the generation of schedules would be of benefit.Qualifications: You should have 10 years experience in an engineering role - Aerospace and/or defence experience preferred.
