A vacancy now exists in the Engineering department for the role of Lead Engineer/Engineer- Mechanical Design.
This position reports to the Senior Design Office & Technical Records Coordinator.

The Role:
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for providing design drafting / engineering services to engineering and operational departments throughout the lease.
You will produce conceptual sketches, equipment layout, schematics, and mechanical, civil and structural designs for plant installations.
This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and offers a working roster of 5/2/4/3.
Responsibilities: Scoping of work for projects, site consultation and measurement Designing cost-effective concepts of mechanical, civil, structural installations Creating detailed drawings of approved designs in a timely manner Checking own and other team drawings before IFR, registering & IFC Estimating costs for drafting activities, producing written design concept reports, safety observation reports for clients and immediate supervisor Providing technical assistance, support, and training to fellow DOTR personnel and clients Following DOTR processes and procedures Always following safe work processes and encouraging safety improvements by workplace observations Required Skills and Attributes: Experience in heavy industry Mechanical Drafting Degree - BE Mech.
(or Civil/Structural) 5 years of design & detail Drafting experience Extensive experience in producing design concepts – leading to detail drawings by consulting and working with clients - particularly for heavy industry within process plants SolidWorks Certification (Part Modeling, Configurations, Assembly Modeling) with essential experience (GA's, Fabrication & Pipework detailing, Simulation, Automated BOM's etc.
