The Role Reporting into the Head of GTDocs and GTDocs Managers, the Lead Reviewer will undertake legal document review work and associated legal work at the highest quality, quality assurance, assist other document reviewers and support Specialists and Managers in the management of document reviews.
More broadly this will involve: Undertaking high quality legal document review and associated legal tasks (such as chronologies, preparation of statements and submissions) in a high pressure, detail-oriented and fast-paced environment.
Assist in managing the document review process by answering queries, ensuring document review processes are being followed, monitoring progress of the review, escalating queries and implementing solutions where appropriate.
Participate in matter debriefings and review meetings, and document learnings and incorporate points for future improvement into future matters.
Support the team in the development and implementation of strategies, best practice, processes, templates, and high quality documentation for efficient document reviews and efficient, data driven matter management.
Explore and implement new and emerging processes, technologies and delivery models.
12-month fixed-term contract with the opportunity for it to turn into a permanent role.
Role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.
About You As our successful candidate you will be a legal professional with experience in Disputes, Competition and Regulatory, Property or Corporate teams looking to take that next step leading a team on large document reviews, in addition you will be/have: Bachelor of Law or in the process of completing Law Degree; 1-3 years' experience in a similar role, or a junior Lawyer looking for a change; Excellent foundational legal skills; Previous document review experience is highly desirable; Proactive updating of process documentation and involvement in internal projects to drive continuous improvement; Analytical and inquisitive mind with a focus on structured continuous improvement, and design thinking; Strong attention to detail and a diligent focus on quality and improvement; Taking an active mentorship role by leading by example and a can-do problem-solving attitude; Collaborative, team orientated mindset with a willingness to receive and provide constructive feedback and being accountable and communicative around your deliverables; What we will offer you Gilbert + Tobin will offer you a friendly, flexible and professional working environment.
