About the Role:
This is an 8-month fixed-term contract commencing in January 2025.
Are you ready to shift gears and lead the charge in maintaining our fleet of modern luxury coaches at our Darwin Depot? As the Leading Hand, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our vehicles operate at their peak while enjoying the unique charm of Darwin.
About You:
We're on the lookout for a passionate leader with a heavy diesel trade qualification, mechanical prowess, and a can-do attitude. In this role, you will have:

Mechanical Trade Qualified to Australian Standards
Previous leadership or supervisory experience (mentoring available)
Strong understanding of WHS regulations
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Great time management, planning, and organisational skills
HR Driver's licence or willingness to obtain it with our assistance

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and allocate duties for repairs, servicing, and scheduled maintenance, ensuring they are completed timely and to our stringent safety and quality standards.
Ensure the preventive maintenance program is relevant and up-to-date.
Provide supervision and guidance for other team members, including one diesel fitter.
Actively assist with day-to-day mechanical work, scheduled servicing, repairs, and breakdowns.
Complete accurate job cards detailing work performed.
Perform general repairs as required around the depot.
Take full autonomy of the workshop operations.
Maintain a safe work environment for staff and guests.
Be available for on-call duties after hours and weekends, with minimum paid call-in periods.
Full training provided, including access to training with Scania & Cummins.
4 weeks of annual leave.
