About the roleWe are seeking a Lead Cost Controller to join our Perth based Projects team.
We will also consider a Senior Cost Controller who is ready to take the next step.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for developing project budgets, analysing cost variances, and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
Brief dutiesDevelop comprehensive project budgets for mining engineering projects, including capital expenditures, operating costs, and contingency allowances.Monitor project expenditures and track costs against budgeted amounts, identifying variances and potential cost overruns and recommend corrective action when necessary.Analyse cost data and trends to identify areas for cost-saving opportunities and efficiency enhancements.Collaborate with project managers and project teams to forecast project costs and mitigate financial risks.Review and evaluate contractor and supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project budgets.Prepare regular cost reports and updates for project stakeholders, including management and clients.Coordinate with finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting for project costs.Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to cost management.About youTertiary Degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field – DesirableExperience in a similar role - Essential10+ years' experience in cost control5+ years' experience in a supervisory or leadership roleExcellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trendsEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholdersAdvanced understanding of project management principles, cost accounting principles, and financial analysis techniquesProficiency in cost management software, spreadsheet applications, and financial modelling toolsSolid understanding and exposure to project schedule management toolsHere at DRA, we offerCompetitive and above market salary packages with regular market analysisA fresh & modern office in the Perth CBD with access to end of trip facilitiesFlexible start and finish times allowing for great work life balanceAccess to salary packaging benefitsA great social committee offering a range of social events and wellbeing activitiesAn inclusive, collaborative and supportive team environment providing you with the tools to succeedWe value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
