About the roleMcConnell Dowell has an exciting opportunity for a site-based Lead Commissioning Engineer (E&I) to join our team at The Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro project, 270km northwest of Townsville. This role will play a crucial part in the successful completion of a project that is delivering Australia's first pumped hydro power station in more than 40 years.If you're seeking an exciting role on a unique and ground-breaking project that values its team members, this role may be ideal for you.
Responsibilities: Lead in planning and delivering on E&I commissioning of the power station.Compose and compile commissioning methodology, management plans, ITPs, test reports, commissioning plans and relevant documentation.Commissioning activities including Dry & Wet commissioning, Operational readiness and hand-over of areas to the client.Commissioning and performance optimisation of various elements of the mechanical and electrical fit out.Interact with Managers and Engineers to implement and coordinate the Project Management Plan.Good communication skills, punctual, presentable, and willing to learn and develop.Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex problems.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.About you Proven experience in project engineering, construction, and commissioning.Relevant tertiary engineering qualifications.Experience in process plants or power station construction desirable.Attention to detail, troubleshooting ability and strong communication skills.Knowledge of OHSQ and statutory requirements.Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to produce correspondence and technical reports.Demonstrated ability to deliver quality work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail under minimum supervision within a team environment to ensure deadlines are met.Don't tick all the boxes but you're still excited about this opportunity?We're dedicated to building a diverse workplace, so we also look at applicants with great transferable skills from similar industries.If that's you, we encourage you to still apply as you may just be the right candidate for this role or one of our other opportunities.
