Adelaide Hills Campus
Our Adelaide Hills Campus currently offers ELC and Reception to Year 3 classes, in brand new facilities. In 2025, we will expand to two streams in Reception and increase to Year 4.
Opportunity
We are seeking applications from suitable candidates for the new role of Lead Co-Educator to work within our growing Adelaide Hills campus.
The role on offer is part time (32.5 hours per week) commencing in January 2025. Co-Educators work across 39 school term weeks with an additional 4 weeks of paid annual leave taken immediately following Term 4.
Position Purpose
The Lead Co-Educator works closely with the Hills leadership team to foster a student-centred, positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. This role provides high-level educational support to classroom and specialist teachers, focusing on student diversity and additional learning needs. The Lead Co-Educator is instrumental in supporting specific learning outcomes for students requiring adjustments and interventions, using personal knowledge, initiative, and discretion to modify education programs.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with children in planning small group/individual literacy and numeracy activities.
Implement particular learning goals for individual students under the direction of a teacher.
Take an active leadership role in assisting with student assessment and reporting.
Apply personal knowledge and initiative to modify education programs meeting the learning needs of specific students.
Support and provide leadership in developing collaborative partnerships between educators, families, and support professionals.
Undertake additional responsibilities, including coordinating activities of multiple groups, supervising employees, trainees, and students on placement, and assisting in administrative functions.
Support the Leader of Diversity in administrative duties where necessary.
Manage and program for Student Diversity "chill out" break sessions.
Provide yard duty and/or supervision support during break times to teachers in accordance with school procedures

Essential Criteria

Strong understanding of curriculum and inclusive teaching practices.
Passionate about teaching and learning, highly skilled and experienced in their fields.
Understanding of the spectrum of learning difficulties and awareness of the types of adjustments required to support student success.
Ability to interact with students and families in a positive, sensitive, and respectful manner.
Ability to model and develop positive relationships with children and foster their social and emotional development.
Experience in supporting students with physical disabilities and assisting with personal care.
Experience in collating and recording data for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
Experience in supporting student behaviour.
High degree of initiative and discretion with the capacity to work under moderate direction.
Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.

Qualifications Required:

Education related Certificate III or Diploma Qualification (or higher) with demonstrated experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Proven leadership experience in an educational setting

A personal commitment to the King's Vision, Mission and Values underpinning the delivery of a Christian- based education tostudents is essential to this role.
