We're seeking a Lead Chef to support our Head Chef in managing the catering operations at our Remote FIFO Residential Village, catering to 50–200 residents.
About the RoleAs the Lead Chef, you'll report directly to the Head Chef and play a pivotal role in supporting all aspects of kitchen and catering services. Your expertise, adaptability, and leadership will contribute to delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head Chef in overseeing catering operations for a Remote FIFO Residential Village.Lead kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with BGIS Food Safety Programs, OHS&E policies, and contractual requirements.Supervise food preparation, menu planning, and meal presentation to maintain high standards.Support the Head Chef with kitchen staff management, including rostering, training, and performance oversight.Collaborate with the Assistant Facilities Manager and Facilities Lead to ensure seamless catering service delivery.Maintain compliance with BGIS systems, including Quality Management (QMS), Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and Environmental Management (EMS).Uphold exceptional customer service standards during daily operations and special events.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential HACCP certification and Food Safety Supervisor accreditation.3–5 years' experience supervising kitchen and catering operations.Knowledge of OH&S, QA, and food safety systems.Desirable Proven experience in remote camp catering, including bulk food preparation and function/event catering.Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and inspire a team.Flexibility and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.About BGISBGIS is a global leader in facility management and technical services, managing over 50,000 facilities worldwide.
