The West Gate Tunnel is a partnership between the Victorian Government and Transurban. The Joint Venture was chosen as the head contractor for construction, with works having commenced in 2018 and scheduled for completion in 2025.
About the Project The West Gate Tunnel Project is a city-shaping project that will deliver a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge, provide quicker and safer journeys, and remove thousands of trucks off residential streets. The Project includes:
Approximately 7km of double lane tunnels, taking over 9000 trucks over local streets in Melbourne's west.Widening the West Gate Freeway from 8 to 12 lanes, with the construction of over 9km of noise walls.The construction of elevated roadway and ramps along Footscray Road, providing new connections into CityLink, Dynon Road, Footscray Road and the port.Over 9 ha of landscaping opportunities across the Project's footprint.We aim to maximise the potential of all our people. Leaders championing and supporting all our staff to succeedActively looking to attract and promote women into non- traditional roles and putting support structures in place to help them succeed.We are looking for an experienced Auditor to join the Technical and Completions team in this critical role through to project completion, which is currently expected to be late 2025. There will potentially be further opportunities beyond this point if the candidate meets performance expectations.
Being involved in a Project of this scale and complexity from this point through to completion is an opportunity unlike most others across the industry. The successful applicant for this role will be an important cog in finishing up the culmination of 6-7 years of work.
The role will be predominantly based at the WGTP Project Delivery Office in Docklands and will report to the Compliance, Reporting & Administration Advisor. A huge bonus to this role is its requirement to get out into the site offices regularly to undertake audits and witness the incredible construction works as part of this project.
The Auditor role comprises the following responsibilities:
Auditing the project to ensure operations. employees and other stakeholders comply with regulations, quality standards and other relevant criteria.Development, management and administration of the Project audit schedule, process and findingsManagement and oversight of the following auditing obligationsInternal Project Management PlansSubcontractor systemsEmployee compliance with the use of WGTP systems including Aconex, Teambinder and HexagonCapture and recording of audit findings in the Aconex Fields software applicationAssistance in reporting Project performanceAbout You Ideally 3-5 years' experience in an identical or similar role within the Construction Industry.Relevant work experience in applying ISO principles, procedures, and techniques with the construction industry including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.Ability to coordinate, plan and liaise with project personnel to facilitate audits.Reporting, auditing and risk management procedures and processesHighly developed attention to detail with demonstrated time management, planning and organisational skills.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) who can engage with various teams across the project.CPBJH JV is committed to equal employment opportunity (EEO) and actively seeks to remove barriers people may face in gaining a successful position on the West Gate Tunnel Project.
