Job DescriptionWe're currently searching for a Lead Artist to join our Brisbane studio. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our creative endeavors, shaping the visual direction of our games. You will lead a team of talented artists and collaborate closely with designers, animators, and programmers to bring our game worlds to life. In this pivotal role within our team of skilled Artists, you'll take the lead in setting and maintaining high artistic standards, while implementing industry best practices. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to provide mentorship and valuable guidance to fellow team members, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration in our workspace.
Responsibilities: Lead and inspire a team of artists, providing guidance and mentorship to foster their growth and development.Collaborate with the Art Director and Game Designers to establish and maintain the visual style of the game.Oversee the creation of concept art, character designs, environments, and other visual assets.Ensure that all visual elements align with the overall artistic vision and meet high-quality standards.Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of art assets into the game engine.Manage art production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet project milestones.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our artistic processes.QualificationsStrong understanding of environmental design principles, including composition, lighting, and spatial storytelling.Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving project goals.Experienced with Substance Painter and 3D software (preferably Maya).Proficient in high-poly and low-poly modelling and knowledge of various texturing workflows.Solid understanding of mesh economy and optimization.Strong observation skills and an eye for detail.Strong portfolio with examples of general asset creation in a combination of environment, shaders, modelling, unwrapping and texturing.Flexible, adaptable, and able to multitask.Team player with excellent communication and teamwork skills.Organised and able to work to deadlines and have good time management skills.Bonus points: Experience with Unreal Engine.Additional InformationWe can't wait to find our next great talent!
