Create a free Lawyers Weekly Jobs account Permanent Full Time – 36.25 hours per week $90,985.68 to $94,947.74 Annually + up to 12% super RCC Officers' Level 5 Your opportunity As our Solicitor, you will provide professional legal advice and services to officers across Council to support and assist the General Counsel.
Guided by our Values, you will: Provide legal research, support and advice to internal customers across the broad range of local government activities and responsibilities, to improve organisational effectiveness and contribute to the achievement of Council's corporate objectives.
Prepare legal documents, legal briefs and legal and court case updates and undertake due diligence as required.
Support organisational projects, multi-disciplinary teams and resources to achieve cost-effective outcomes, organisational acceptance of outcomes and productive working relationships.
What you'll bring We would love to hear from you if you: Have previous experience in undertaking legal research and business support within a legal business context particularly in relation to government, environment, contracts, land use and town planning.
Have demonstrated experience and computer skills to prepare legal documentation including: Court documents, Contracts and Reports.
Have a high level of understanding of policies, delegations, business systems and processes in multi-disciplinary teams, particularly within a legal context.
