As a Lawyer in the Regulatory Reviews Legal team, you will play a crucial role in advising on non-contentious regulatory reviews, inquiries, investigations and high-risk regulatory matters. The role is also tasked with monitoring external regulatory developments and providing insights to the Legal leadership team.
Additionally, the Regulatory Reviews Legal team also assists in the broader practice group of Financial Crime/Fraud prevention and Scams.
Some of the key accountabilities are: Working on regulatory reviews and inquiries (eg industry reviews conducted by the ACCC, ASIC or APRA), including APRA investigations and other investigative work.Proactively undertaking regulatory reviews in high-risk areas to understand and advise on exposure areas as a result of industry developments and regulatory activity.Partnering with other regulatory and legal teams to advise business partners on regulatory risk and learnings associated with regulatory matters and regulatory developments.Managing external legal engagements as required.Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with relevant regulatory, business leaders and Legal colleagues to ensure appropriate level of governance, oversight and accountability.Identifying and monitoring existing and emerging legal risks and issues arising from and in relation to any litigation and disputes and producing insightful guidance to legal and business teams as appropriate. What do I need? 4-6 years PQEExperienced disputes/regulatory lawyer within the financial services industry (experience in large scale regulatory inquiries/investigations or internal investigations desirable)Solutions focused and good problem-solving skillsExcellent professional and commercial judgement and decision-makingStrong organisational skills and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines.Ability to work with limited supervision (including judgement regarding how and when to escalate issues)Strong relationship-building and management skills What's it like to work there?
