About the role We have an opportunity for an experienced Planning &Environment Lawyer to join our friendly and highly engaged PublicLaw team. Working closely with our partners, you will primarilywork on front-end environmental, planning and regulatory matters toour public and private clients.
As a pivotal team member within a supportive and collaborativeenvironment, you will undertake various responsibilities includingdrafting advice, contract drafting, and legal research. Yourprimary duties will involve drafting advice on Federal and Stateenvironmental regulation, planning and approval processes,contaminated land, and statutory processes, and working oncontracts related to similar matters, such as voluntary planningagreements, waste contracts and contracts relating to contaminatedland. Additionally, you will conduct legal research to supportadvisory and transactional work, stay abreast of regulatorydevelopments, and conduct due diligence on environmental andstatutory processes.
The work is interesting, complex and challenging which will seeyou working alongside like-minded professionals in a collaborativeteam environment. You will be recognised for personal achievementsand receive mentoring to ensure your professional skills continueto grow and develop.
About you In order to be considered for this role you will have thefollowing skills and experience:
5+ years PQE doing similar work or alternatively have alegal background and keen to return to private practice;Excellent technical and drafting skills;Strong people & analytical skills and excellentcommunication;An enquiring mind as well as a possessing sound judgementand a can-do attitude;A commitment to team work and achieving challengingobjectives; andStrong academic qualifications.Maddocks is simply a great place to do great work.
