This rolewill focus on both front-end and back-end constructionmatters.
Our nationalConstruction team forms part of our Property & Projectssection, and has specialist expertise advising on procurement, riskanalysis and project structuring, financing and delivery. We actacross a broad range of sectors (including commercial, residential,health care, energy, resources, utilities, transport and socialinfrastructure), and advise a wide range of clients (includinginstitutional and private developers, asset owners, contractors,consultants, financiers and hospitals).
We also havea diverse construction litigation practice. Our team advises andacts in relation to complex, often high value disputes relating todelay, disruption and variation claims, defects, bank guaranteerecovery, security of payment claims, liquidated damages, and othercontractual and negligence claims in all Australianjurisdictions.
As a keymember of the team, you will work with our award-winning andindustry-leading partners, including JohnO'Kane and Ben Cotter ,on the following types of matters:
draftingand negotiating a range of agreements, including constructioncontracts, consultancy agreements, project developmentagreements and supply contracts for both public and privatesector clients, including relating to renewable energy andsocial infrastructure; providing legal servicesin all aspects of construction, including joint venture anddevelopment arrangements and construction projects; assisting clientsadminister their construction contracts; and advisingclients in relation to dispute avoidance, and acting for themin claims and disputes arising from projects (includingsecurity of payment claims). Wewould like to hear from you if you have the following skills andexperience: between2 – 8 years of post-admission experience as aconstruction or projects lawyer; ideallyyou will have experience across both front-end and back-endconstruction matters (but specialist front-end or back-endexperience will also be considered); theability to work autonomously and as part of a team; excellent technical,analytical and drafting skills with keen attention todetail; a strongcommitment to client service and the ability to manage clientrelationships; a focuson achieving commercial solutions for our clients; forsenior candidates, a willingness and ability to mentor andsupervise junior members of the team; and theability to organise and prioritise effectively.
