This role will predominantly involve handling public liability (personal injury) claims and we are looking for an experienced lawyer with strong expertise in this area of practice.
The General Insurance team advises on and manages a diverse portfolio of claims for many Australian and international insurers and underwriters (including Lloyds of London syndicates), Government departments and public sector entities and self-insured corporations. Our team routinely handles claims that are complex, technically challenging and high profile. Our team in Melbourne has approximately 60 people and is part of our national General Insurance practice - a collaborative, collegiate and high performing team.
About you You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Between 2 and 5 years of post-admission experience in defendant insurance law;We are open to hearing from candidates from a plaintiff background;Experience in construction disputes (e.g. acting for contractors, engineers, builders, etc.) will be highly regarded;Experience managing personal injury claims from end-to-end;Strong technical ability and attention to detail;Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.About us Hall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
