This rolewill predominantly involve handling public liability (personalinjury) claims and we are looking for an experienced lawyer withstrong expertise in this area of practice. The GeneralInsurance team advises on and manages a diverse portfolio of claimsfor many Australian and international insurers and underwriters(including Lloyds of London syndicates), Government departments andpublic sector entities and self-insured corporations. Our teamroutinely handles claims that are complex, technically challengingand high profile. Our team in Melbourne has approximately 60 peopleand is part of our national General Insurance practice - acollaborative, collegiate and high performing team. Aboutyou You willideally have the following skills and experience: between2 and 5 years of post-admission experience in defendantinsurance law; we areopen to hearing from candidates from a plaintiffbackground; experience inconstruction disputes (e.g. acting for contractors, engineers,builders, etc.) will be highly regarded; experience managingpersonal injury claims from end-to-end; strongtechnical ability and attention to detail; and strongnegotiation and advocacy skills.
