YOUR ROLE You'll join IAG's high performing legal team (awarded the 2022 Large Legal Team of the Year at the ACC Corporate Lawyer awards).
As a Lawyer in IAG Legal's Major Disputes team, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient legal advice and support to IAG in relation to the strategic management of significant claims, disputes, and litigation.
The role will see you joining a team who work closely and collaboratively together, effectively manage external counsel in relation to significant disputes and litigation, and who establish deep and effective relationships with business partners and senior stakeholders to understand their business drivers and strategic priorities.
This is a permanent role and will be based in Sydney. ABOUT YOU You have a minimum of 3 years PQE working on complex large-scale disputes and litigation gained at a major Australian or international law firm.Ideally, you also have some prior experience in an in-house legal team at a large corporate or financial institution (including through secondments) and some prior experience relating to insurance claims and disputes.You have well developed legal skills and understand Federal and State court rules and procedures.You have strong project management skills and the ability to manage priorities and work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.You are a clear oral and written communicator and can work effectively with legal and business stakeholders.You have a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent tertiary degree.Admitted as an Australian legal practitioner with a current practising certificate (e.g., issued by the Law Society of New South Wales).ABOUT US IAG is the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand.
