We will assess applications regularly as temporary vacancies arise and if deemed suitable, you may be contacted to determine your interest and suitability in the role.Pre-employment screening forms part of our selection process, therefore you will be requested to submit detailed documentation prior to your commencement in a temporary role.Your roleUndertake child protection proceedings, including preparing court documents and advocating in hearings.Provide legal advice on court practices and procedures.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents for senior lawyers.Maintain compliance with quality and case management standards.Engage with stakeholders to foster relationships and enhance service delivery.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of child protection law.About youExcellent research and writing abilities.Strong analytical and organisational skills.Ability to manage workload effectively and adapt to changing priorities.Ideally knowledge of or ability to acquire child protection litigation knowledge.Admission, or eligibility for immediate admission as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland, and enrolment or eligibility for enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.What's on offer$113,804 - $122,400 per year, plus 12.75% superTemporary contract with the possibility of extensionFlexible work practices, including hybrid arrangementsWorking in a large, diverse employer with rich opportunities for growth, upward mobility, and skill development across various fields.Additional Information:Be admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland at least on a conditional basis within three months of the date of appointment.An Open C class driver's license is a requirement, with the ability to drive to local Court locations.Intrastate travel is required and includes same day and multi-day (overnight) travel.Submission of this EOI is not a guarantee that you will be offered employment with the ODCPL.By submitting an EOI, you will not automatically be considered for advertised vacancies.
