The focus of the role is to provide high quality advice, information and representation in criminal matters in northern Tasmania. The role also involves providing community legal education.About You:Experience working as an advocate in the Magistrates Court would be preferred but is not essential and have undertaken work in the Supreme Court. An understanding of the social issues faced by members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.A team player, working positively with colleagues and external stakeholders.High level of personal initiative, resourcefulness and diligence.Basic competency in the use of MS Office and the capacity to quickly acquire competency in the use of client databases.About The Offer:This is a rewarding opportunity to join a forward thinking and inclusive organisation who is focused on making a difference, where it really matters.A competitive salary is available, plus access to salary packaging of up to $18,550 (increasing your take-home pay).
