Full time ongoing position (0.8 FTE applications considered)
Salary range: $87,799 - $98,901 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
Relocation allowance offered if relocating for the role

About the role Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is looking for a dedicated Lawyer to join our Horsham office. In this position, you will provide high-quality legal services, including duty lawyer services, casework, and legal advice, primarily in criminal law and family violence matters. You will have the chance to work closely with clients in need, ensuring they receive the support and representation essential to navigating complex legal challenges.
About you As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

Ability to effectively advocate in court settings, particularly in criminal law and family violence cases.
Strong understanding of relevant laws and procedures, with practical experience in criminal law, family violence, and other legal aid practice areas.
High level of interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering cooperation and support among team members.
A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
