About Legal Aid QueenslandAre you an experienced lawyer ready to take on a position delivering high-quality criminal law services?
You will be assisting vulnerable Queenslanders by representing children and adults charge with criminal offences before all courts in Queensland.
This vacancy is until 1 August 2025, with the possibility of extension.What you will do Representing clients including preparing matters, instructing counsel and appearing for accused persons in all general criminal law mattersProvide legal information and advice to clients and the publicProvide duty lawyer services in the Magistrates and Children's Courts and appear on higher court call-overs and mentions.
About you: The successful candidate will have Experience in the conduct of summary and indictable criminal law matters and related areas of law – experience in youth crime is desirableKnowledge of the practice and procedure of criminal law, evidence and ethicsThe ability to build and sustain relationships with team members, other colleagues and external stakeholders.
