Our InsuranceWA team has approximately 85 people located across Adelaide, Perthand Darwin. The Insurance WA team is a defendant insurancelegal team, working across both General Insurance and StatutoryInsurance matters, including CTP, workers' compensation,recoveries, liability, professional indemnity and generalinsurance. This is a fantastic hands-on Insurance role, withsignificant learning, development and progression opportunities,and the opportunity to work with interesting clients, includingsome of Australia's top insurers. Keyresponsibilities You will beinvolved in a variety of matters including: providing advice –including on liability and quantum - to the InsuranceCommission of Western Australia (the sole compulsory thirdparty insurer for motor vehicle accidents in WA); litigation in theDistrict Court of WA, including attending chamber summonshearings, directions hearings, compromise hearings and specialappointments; and  advisingon the interpretation and application of statutory provisionsrelevant to CTP and motor vehicle accidents, including theMotor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act1943.  Skills andexperience: We are keento hear from candidates with the following skills andexperience: between2 – 4 years of post-admission experience indefendant insurance law, ideally within CTP / motor vehicleaccidents; experience in theday-to-day management of files, and in running matters throughcourt proceedings; aproactive attitude and the ability to work well as part of ateam; clear,concise legal writing skills; and Aboutus Hall &Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
