19th September, 2024 About the role We are seeking a back-end construction lawyer to join one of the largest and busiest Construction, Infrastructure and Projects teams in the State.
With a genuine commitment to developing our lawyers in a large specialist team environment, you will have opportunities at both a local and national level to receive mentoring and training from a broad range of experts in the field, including peers and senior leaders.
You will assist clients in the context of varied and large-scale projects over a range of sectors including transport and social infrastructure, renewables, commercial, residential and industrial working for a mix of project owners (including Government) and major contractors.
During and after the delivery of projects, you will work with our team and clients to manage disputes, including in the context of adjudications and expert determinations, and to act in high-value and complex litigation and arbitration.
In that context and as part of a team, you will be expected to prepare evidence and assist in drafting legal submissions, instruct Counsel and manage technical experts.
You will have access to support and supervision from a high-performing large team of lawyers at the special counsel, senior associate, associate, lawyer, graduate and undergraduate levels who are an integral part of what we do.
Your clients will include major institutions, government, developers, multi-national engineering companies and the largest head contractors in the country.
About you The successful candidate will have back-end construction experience with sound knowledge of the sector.
You will enjoy the dynamics of working in a collaborative team with a strong commitment to achieving client outcomes and a desire to continually develop your technical capability.
In addition to the above, you will have 1-3 years PAE and the following skills/ attributes: Excellent technical skills and a keen eye for detail Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines within a fluid work environment Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust your communication style based on your audience and positively influence desired outcomes An active team member who is committed to supporting others to reach shared goals The necessary skills to use discretion and deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriate  This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that operates on some of the Country's most high-profile and interesting projects whilst being part of a collaborative and supportive team.
