The Role Propel your legal career by joining Canberra's market leading commercial and major projects legal practice, working under partners Andrew Leece (Partner in Charge of the Canberra office) and James Kendal.
This role will see you working on a diverse range of commercial transactions and regulatory matters —covering airports, rail, property, venture capital, government projects and matters and other infrastructure.
In addition to complex transactional work, the team supports clients on disputes, investigations, project delivery and contract management issues.
Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, the following attributes will be required: 0-2 years' experience (PQE) – new graduates will be considered where we can arrange PLT requirements; an ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately; a willingness to listen and learn; a willingness to assist in the administrative side of the practice; an attention to detail; a can-do approach, with a drive to work collaboratively with the Partners and wider team to develop as a Lawyer; strong interpersonal skills and a committed to providing quality service to our clients; and effective verbal communication skills.
The Major Project and Construction team The Major Projects and Construction team is one of the largest dedicated projects practices in the Asia Pacific region, working on some of the most significant infrastructure, construction, engineering and contract mining projects in the region for public and private participants.
We advise the full spectrum of participants, from owners, developers and project sponsors to Federal, State and Local Government agencies, financiers, project managers, consultants and contractors.
We know and understand the practical, as well as the purely legal, aspects of what all participants in major projects want to achieve, and have a particular expertise in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in complex economic and social infrastructure construction projects.
