Latitude Financial Services | Pay Credit Underwriter

This is a full-time role based in Australia or New Zealand!
Help us expand our pilot re-establishing onshore ANZ underwriting for Cards – optimising pull through on more complex income types.

The Pay Credit Underwriter is responsible for the assessment and credit decisioning of Credit Card applications and Credit Card limit increases whilst ensuring that all underwriting complies with LFS policy & procedure and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities: Assess and undertake manual credit decisions to complex applications, contacting customers directly where necessary.
Correct decision making of applications within delegated authority (DA).
Make recommendations where applicable to higher delegated authorities (DA).
Build strong relationships with stakeholders by providing service within determined SLA's.
Discuss and clarify decisions with stakeholders, resolving accordingly in line with Latitude's policy & procedure.
Handle and own escalations from stakeholders and resolve accordingly in line with LFS policy & procedure.
Together with Leader, monitor and control workflow queues working collaboratively to flex.
Together with Leader, support feedback to Genpact on opportunities including refinements to underwriter referral criteria.
Promote a positive work environment.
Adherence to the Originations & Account Management Procedure.
Adherence to Latitudes policy, procedures and relevant legislation.
Other reasonable/developmental tasks as directed.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5 years' experience in consumer lending underwriting with delegated lending authority.
Strong understanding of the Financial Services Industry and associated finance products.
Strong working knowledge of AML and Responsible Lending legislation across AU &/or NZ.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven experience in handling difficult conversations.
Excellent customer service skills including delivery of decisions and explanations to stakeholders and directly with customers.
Self-motivated individual who isn't afraid to challenge the status quo and deliver outcomes.
Ability to think strategically and critically in credit decision within a fast-paced environment.
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Financial/Accounting/Business preferred.
