(Miss Betty Archdale, 6th Headmistress 1958 – 1970) The Role Abbotsleigh is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate part-time (0.2 FTE) French teacher to join our Languages Department for 2025. The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly motivated to support Abbotsleigh to maintain and develop learning and innovation, ensure continued academic achievement, and inspire, engage, and value every girl. They will also be responsible for the well-being of a small tutor group. You will be part of a department that is well-resourced, and a team that is always happy to give you a hand and help guide and support you. The Duties The successful applicant will have proven success in classroom practice in teaching junior French Classes.
Week A: period 2 Monday 9.40am - 10.55am, period 4 Thursday 2.10pm - 3.25pm, period 1 & 2 Friday 8.20am - 10.55am
A robust knowledge of NSW syllabi, strong intellectual acumen, a fine understanding of 21st-century learning, strong ICT competencies to enhance learning, and excellent collegial and communication skills, are essential for this role. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality instruction to students at Abbotsleigh.
They will create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment. They will contribute to the development of departmental programs and communicate with parents/guardians, staff, and girls in a respectful, professional, and constructive way.
