At JPC, we strive for excellence in teaching so that our students are offered every opportunity for success in their learning.About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and committed person to join our community as our Languages Faculty Coordinator commencing in Semester One 2025.Faculty Coordinators lead the pursuit of excellence in all areas of teaching and learning including content knowledge, teaching methodologies, classroom management, assessment and reporting, and professional development within their subject area.Key ResponsibilitiesLead by example by setting and modelling excellent standards of teaching and working with staff to provide an optimal learning environment for students to achieve excellence.Lead and support the implementation of CECG's Catalyst Program and High Impact Teaching Practices in the school through active engagement in professional learning.Oversee the development of a dynamic curriculum in line with national and state requirements, and whole school goals.Work with staff to incorporate new developments in teaching and learning.Evaluate courses or units regularly and make appropriate modifications.Ensure courses cater for a range of individual needs and learning styles.Develop effective and appropriate relationships with and between members of the community – students, staff and parents.Ensure processes are in place to foster collegiality and effective teamwork in the department.Manage departmental processes such as staff and student allocations, excursions, and the purchase of resources.Ensure effective administrative processes in the department, including holding productive meetings, and maintaining accurate records.QualificationsMust hold tertiary Teaching qualification.Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation.Selection CriteriaA thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning.Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents.The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community.Classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students.A comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies.Other Eligibility CriteriaYou must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be eligible to apply for this position.Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.Application ProcessApplicants are required to submit a current resume and a cover letter that addresses the selection criteria as outlined in the Position Description.This position involves working with children.
