About the Language Services department The Language Services department is responsible for the provision of interpreter and translation services to women of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds at the Royal Women's Hospital. The Language Services department provides services to all clinics, wards & departments across the hospital.
About the role The Language Services Coordinator provides oversight, operational responsibility and monitoring of the Language Services Department. They support both in-house and visiting interpreters and work to meet performance targets while ensuring high-quality patient care through effective, innovative service models. Their role includes coordinating, developing, and delivering services based on best practices and national standards. Additionally, they monitor contracts and relationships with external language agencies. Alongside these duties, the coordinator also provides interpreting and translation services as needed.
A regular day will see you:
Maintain service delivery in accordance with NSQHS standards and NAATI standardsCoordinate, supervise and support Language Services staffProvide interpreting and/or translation services.About you You'll bring with you:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications, preferably interpreting, linguistic and/or management qualifications with a minimum of 2-3 years working experienceNAATI certified provisional/certified interpreter (+/-) translation certification (or working towards)Demonstrated commitment to a women-centred approach to service provisionExcellent interpersonal, communication and written skillsDemonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting with effective analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong demonstrated skills in the use of IT systems and competent in use of Microsoft Office.At the Women's you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
