BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of highway maintenance services across Scotland.
We manage and maintain over 2,000km of Scotland's trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving.
The North West Trunk Road Unit spans some 1,422km of trunk road through some of the most scenic parts of the country.
It also includes 1,501 bridges and structures, including the Kessock Bridge which carries the A9 north of Inverness and the A87 Skye Crossing.
The North West Unit covers a huge area of Scotland, from Thurso and Wick in the very north of the Highlands down to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling in the central belt.
The Landscape Operative will carry out landscape duties including grass cutting, weed control, etc.
This is a full-time role.
Responsibilities and Activities Preparation/inspection of machinery and equipment for day's workAttend all relevant toolbox talksFilling in of weekly timesheet and relevant paperwork where requiredReport vehicle defects and ensure that accidents/incidents are reported accordinglyAny other duties as requiredKnowledge, Skills and Experience Experience of landscape worksBasic knowledge of landscape operations and machineryPreferably hold a current driving licenceAbility to develop skills within the departmentAbility to carry out basic reportingGood at working in a teamWorking together with other employees in relation to worksGood work ethicKnowledge of the requirement of Health and Safety rules and proceduresPhysically fit for working in sometimes arduous conditionsAbility to problem solveFlexible to working practicesAbility to cope with changeGood planning and organisational skillsWhy BEAR?
