Role Overview:
As a Landscape Gardener with Garden Society, you will be responsible for building and maintaining outdoor areas that meet the aesthetic and functional needs of our clients. You will work closely with a variety of materials, plants, trees, lawns, and outdoor structures, ensuring that each project reflects quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. This role requires both creativity and technical expertise to transform outdoor spaces while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and longevity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design & Planning: Collaborate with clients and design teams to plan and implement landscaping projects. Provide creative solutions for garden layouts, plant selections, hardscaping, and outdoor features like walkways, seating areas, and water features.
• Installation & Construction: Build and install outdoor elements such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, decks, fences, garden beds, irrigation systems, and more. Ensure all installations are durable, safe, and aesthetically aligned with the design vision.
• Plant Care & Maintenance: Select, plant, and care for a wide variety of trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass. Ensure ongoing maintenance through regular care such as pruning, fertilizing, watering, and pest control.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must have the ability to carry, lift up to 20 kilos and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling and standing for long periods.
• Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working order. Follow safety protocols during all phases of work.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in landscaping, including installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture, including plant types, soil conditions, and pest management.
• Skilled in operating landscaping tools and machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, and pruning equipment).
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and an eye for design and aesthetics.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license (may be required for transportation of equipment).
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with hardscaping (patios, walls, walkways).
• Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices and eco-friendly design.
• Certification in horticulture or landscape design is a plus.
