About us Queensland Hydro is a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state's energy system.
The organisation will drive delivery of world-class pumped hydro assets to provide the long-term storage and reliability needed to power Queensland's clean energy future. The organisation will play a critical role in assisting the Queensland Government to meet its renewable energy targets and net zero emissions by 2050, supporting the shift in the Australian economy to a decarbonised energy system.
Position Overview We are seeking experienced and dedicated Land and Tenure managers, specialists, and advisers to join our dynamic team across all experience levels. Based in Brisbane Mackay or the Sunshine Coast, you will have the opportunity to be part of two exciting mega projects that will shape Queensland's renewable energy landscape. Your expertise in mega project infrastructure projects and your ability to cultivate collaborative and trusting relationships with landholders will be invaluable to the success of our Pumped Hydro projects.
Accountabilities and roles will vary depending on the projects' requirements and specific activities required however we'd love to hear from people who can demonstrate experience or enthusiasm to:
Ensure that Queensland Hydro's core values are demonstrated in all dealings with every stakeholder.Development and maintain excellent long-term relationships with landholders within the local communities in which QLD Hydro operates including with First Nations communities.Negotiate and secure access to land for the projects (easement, acquisition leasehold, license, freehold, other) as well as ongoing land contract management to ensure outcomes for landholders and the community is maintained or improved into the future.Work closely with the regional development and community teams to execute upon opportunities and solve emerging issues.Provide advice and support to the project delivery team on land and property management, including leading internal workstreams across multiple teams to provide a 'cradle to grave' solution to land and associated matters.Assist in the development of the long term land execution plan during development, construction and once our Pumped Hydro infrastructure is commissioned and operational.Undertake internal process improvement projects. For example, develop or simplify business processes to remove unnecessary administrative burden, including liaison across QLD Hydro to remove, minimise and streamline interactions with other business units.Direct experience of QLD land legislation; EPBC Act and knowledge of EIS processes and activities required would be advantageous.Above all else, enthusiasm, problem solving, and a can-do attitude are 'must haves.
