Temporary Full Time up to June 2028 Located at Bega NSW Salary commencing from $93,295 p.a + super and leave loading Seeking Natural Resource Management skillsets South East Local Land Services is seeking a dynamic and skilled Land Services Officer to join our team in Bega, NSW. This role is essential for the successful delivery of a crucial project aimed at protecting and enhancing priority Threatened Ecological Communities within the South East Coastal Ranges.
You will act as a bridge between various stakeholders, including private and public land managers, First Nations communities, and government agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and communication, while also helping deliver on-ground projects. Your expertise in land management practices, ecological conservation, and community engagement will be invaluable in guiding landholders to implement strategies for habitat restoration, weed management, and pest animal control.
Key Responsibilities Facilitate Stakeholder Collaboration: Ensure project goals are understood through collaboration among stakeholders, including land managers, First Nations communities, and government agencies. Assist in Managing Project Budget and Reporting: Support the oversight of the project budget and grants process, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately. Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing necessary documentation, including progress reports, financial statements, and grant applications, for stakeholders and funding bodies Provide Guidance on Sustainable Practices: Offer guidance on sustainable land management practices to landholders, emphasizing conservation and community engagement. Develop Relationships and Conduct Community Awareness Activities: Build and maintain relationships with land managers, First Nations communities, and government agencies to support project objectives. Support community awareness activities to enhance understanding of Threatened Ecological Communities among land managers and the broader community. Implement and Monitor Restoration Strategies: Implementing strategies for habitat restoration, weed management, and pest animal control, ensuring effectiveness. About You The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience and/or qualifications in Natural Resource Management. Proven ability to engage and build strong relationships with landholders. Strong project management skills, including reporting, budgeting, planning, and monitoring. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple priorities effectively.
