The HAZMAT Lead Technical Manager role, based in Canberra, is an opportunity to lead a diverse, qualified and experienced team of occupational hygiene and hazardous materials specialists. Reporting to the Company Director, the HAZMAT Lead Technical Manager will be responsible for implementing the business strategy and ensuring that the people and commercial objectives for the company are achieved.

Having worked in the HAZMAT and/or occupational hygiene industry, you are an experienced professional with proven experience in:
Implementing business strategy to achieve planned operational and financial objectives Developing and executing successful bid management and quotations for delivery of service to clients Project managing hazardous material risk assessment and monitoring projects from initiation to completion Providing leadership and coaching the performance of the team to achieve their operational objectives Developing and reviewing technical reports detailing investigation, risk assessment, recommendations and practicable solutions for clients Acting as a mentor for the team to help their professional development and support growth aspirations Leading client and account management activities to identify and build ongoing business relationships You will bring the following to the role:
5 plus years of relevant experience in occupational hygiene or hazardous materials sector with focus on asbestos and lead. Relevant qualifications and certifications. Licenced Asbestos Assessor (LAA) status and/or provisional membership with AIOH will be highly regarded Expert knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and commercial contexts covering occupational hygiene and hazardous materials to identify trends and opportunities. High level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on the tasks at hand. Highly organised, able to prioritise a diverse workload and great at planning and directing work activities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders. Strong leadership and coaching skills and competence to build and sustain a vibrant, respectful and values aligned work culture. What we offer:
