The Museum of Art and Culture yapang is seeking an Exhibitions and Collection Officer to oversee the installation of exhibitions and the Visual Arts collection.
The role includes managing touring and in-house curated exhibitions, artwork loans, new donations, as well as documenting the collection for the new online archive.
The Exhibitions and Collections Officer is a key part of the small gallery team, working closely with the Curator.
This role demands a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and meticulous organisational skills to bring dynamic exhibitions and collections to life.
You'll assist in maintaining and monitoring storage standards, preserving the security and integrity of exhibitions and cultural collections.
Furthermore, you'll oversee all administrative aspects of the outbound exhibition program, including budget management, marketing coordination, transport logistics, and insurance arrangements.
This role is perfect for an organised, detail-oriented professional eager to make an impact on the gallery's exhibition and collection programs, ensuring their success and safeguarding their legacy.
May operate across departmental service delivery, Monday through Sunday; 5.00am to 9.00pm.
The role will be located at the Museum of Art and Culture yapang with occasional visits to external sites/depots.
Requires a Working with Children's Check for paid employment.

To excel in the role, you'll bring a solid foundation of experience in gallery administration, collection management, or museum practices.
Your extensive experience in exhibition installation and collection management will set you apart, showcasing your ability to manage the logistical and technical aspects of presenting high-quality exhibitions.
This includes a demonstrated capability to handle and manage artworks with the utmost care, ensuring their safety and integrity throughout all processes.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have:
Degree qualification in public gallery administration, collection management, and museum practice or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Proven extensive experience in exhibition installation and collection management.
Demonstrated ability to physically handle and manage artworks.
Proven experience with use of a collections database.
C Class Drivers Licence.

Competitive salary commencing from $77,896 a year plus industry-leading 12 percent superannuation.
Temporary Maternity Leave Contract – Up to 12 months.
35-hour working week with flex-time.
