Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is based at our Lidcombe site.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of mechanical maintenance resources including plant and equipment repairs, maintenance, and installations.

Main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: Direct responsibility for supervision of all Lactalis trades employees and contractors reporting to this role, including but not limited to rostering, timesheets, performance management, and training.
Ensure completion of planned and unplanned works as required to ensure reliable operation of all areas of the factory, ensuring minimum plant downtime.
Provide technical support and oversight of day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure timely and accurate maintenance response.
Ensure maintenance activities are carried out within the allocated maintenance budget.
Ensure that an adequate stock of mechanical spares are kept on site to meet reasonable requirements.
Provide after-hours support to site as required to ensure continued operation (on a roster basis).
Proactively focus on continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, and Efficiency by participating in site project work, either at site level or Capex level.
Provide effective communication within the maintenance department and with all other departments.
Mentor direct reports to ensure continued development of people and skills.
Continuously develop personal technical and management skills.
Ensure compliance with the relevant standards.
Complete all tasks and duties as reasonably requested by management.
Proactively seek continuous improvement opportunities within the business.
