The Role: Our Labourer Parks & Gardens is responsible for undertaking a variety of duties to assist in the presentation and maintenance of Council's open spaces. These include the safe operation and general maintenance of Council's plant, performing general duties such as mowing, weeding, brush cutting, fertilising, irrigating and picking up litter as well providing other support for the workgroup as directed.
What we are looking for: You will need to be able to work as part of a teamYou will have solid communication skills, both written and verbalYou will have a current Queensland C class driver's licenceYou will need to be able to safely operate Council owned plant such as mowers, brush cutters and chainsaws, or have the ability to quickly acquire these skillsYou will need to be able to demonstrate your experience in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems or have the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledgeYou will need to be physically fit to undertake manual handling and labouring tasks in hot and humid conditionsYou will also need to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol screen.
