ROLE Working in a team of scientific & technical specialists, you will play a key support role in the team. You will enjoy a combination of work in the laboratory, including benchtop chemistry; sample prep, testing and analysis, titrations. You will have opportunities to learn new skills in technical equipment including Gas Chromatography (GC), ICP OES (Optical Emission Spectrometry) and MS (Mass Spectrometry), and XRF & Spark Test machines.
You will receive training and support across all tasks you will perform, which could include but not limited to:
Monitor & ensure product Quality by sampling, testing & analysing results.Collaborate with technical colleagues across different labs on the plant, including driving work vehicles across the site for sampling.Calibrate precision measurement & testing equipment & machinery.Following the requirements of the laboratory quality system.Optimising turnaround time for samples.General laboratory housekeeping, maintenance and organisation of equipment, storage, and waste management aligned with company's procedures.YOU Current study or completed tertiary qualifications in a scientific or technical discipline (Cert IV – Laboratory / Environmental, Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or Materials, or Metallurgy is favourable).Practical hands-on approach to tasks & technical problem solving and application.Exposure to an industrial environment or laboratory (desirable).Driving Licence.Demonstrated ability to analyse data and interpret & present the results.Ability to learn & use computer-based information management systems.Strong attention to detail.This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to gain further industry experience and advance and develop your career opportunities with a broadened skill set and capabilities.
