Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled environmental Laboratory Technician to assist management in maintaining SGS capability to analyse soil, water and air.
In particular, to conduct routine analyses and to deliver quality and timely laboratory results.
This is full time permanent position, based in Perth Airport, WA. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Undertake routine preparations and analysis of soil and water samples.
Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination.
Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with written procedures.
Assist in receiving, unpacking and registering samples received.
Assist in the disposal of samples as required.
Understand and adapt general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
Ensure that safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly and when necessary.
Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through internal, external and on-the-job training/courses to support continuous development and improvement.
Qualifications As the successful candidate, you will: Hold a TAFE or tertiary qualification in Science or Chemistry.
Have working experience in a laboratory environment (preferably an environmental laboratory).
Be flexible with working hours and tasks (mainly Monday to Friday, afternoon shift).
