WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS Options for additional superannuation contributions Annual short-term incentive bonus that recognises both your individual performance and the overall success of the business Discounted rates on travel, healthcare, and technology products ABOUT THE ROLE We have two Fixed-Term Contract opportunities available: 2-year fixed-term contract: Full-time 2-year fixed-term contract: Part-time (0.6) These positions are on a Continuous 36hour DS/NS roster, at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for your own safety and contribute to the safety of all lab personnel by adhering to work standards, ensuring you have competency for the tasks allocated to you, and understand the risks and controls of each task.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Preparation, analysis, and reporting of samples to agreed standards Conduct quality control checks of analysis routinely Work effectively as part of a team to guarantee everyone goes home safe and well Develop skills and knowledge of Worsley's laboratory Standard Work Instructions ABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Prior laboratory experience, preferably gained in a wet chemistry laboratory Exposure to Titration, Ion Chromatograph, XRF, XRD, Density, ICP desirable but not essential Strong collaboration and communication skills Qualifications for this position are: TAFE Certificate 3 Laboratory Skills minimum Basic laboratory safety, basic sampling theory South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
