About the Opportunity We are a rapidly growing scale-up focused on cleaner, more efficient lithium extraction, particularly the processing of Australian spodumene and other lithium-containing materials.
The Laboratory Technician will partner closely with our Research Scientists and CTO on exciting projects to refine Novalith's existing processes and develop our science further.
Responsibilities Conduct various laboratory tests to support our lithium-recovery process.Follow established protocols for sample preparation, analysis, and data recording.Operate laboratory equipment ensuring their proper functioning and calibration.Maintain accurate records of test results, observations, procedures performed, and any deviations encountered during experiments.Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues that may arise during testing processes.Assist in the development of new testing methods or improvements to existing ones.Promote a safe working environment by adhering to WHS regulations.About the Ideal Candidate A relevant degree or diploma – ideally in Chemical Engineering.2 to 5 years of experience working in a chemical/metallurgical laboratory (highly desirable).Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and familiarity with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) regulations.Ability to lift/carry up to 25 kg and torque bolts up to 65+ Nm when required for experimental setups or equipment maintenance tasks.Demonstrated initiative and willingness for professional growth and learning opportunities.Proficiency in technical skills related to chemical/metallurgical lab work and a high level of computer literacy.Capability to work effectively within a team environment or with minimal direct supervision.Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.Enthusiasm for working within a multicultural team.Compensation Competitive salary range depending on experience ($68,000 to $85,000) and comprehensive benefits package.
