The Role Our Lenah Valley site in Hobart manufactures a range of more than 50 milk, milk-based and cream products, all made from fresh milk sourced directly from Tasmanian dairy farms.
The site currently produces around 33 million litres of product every year, operating 6 days.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this critical role is responsible for providing service and technical support in all product and material analysis areas, including analyses of finished goods, raw materials, environmental surveys, and equipment calibration.
This is an excellent opportunity to get experience across physical, chemical, microbial and more.
This role is a permanent full-time shift work position.
Responsibilities Coordinate and execute the day-to-day operations in the quality laboratory including physical, chemical, microbial testing of raw materials, intermediate and finished product, antibiotic testing of raw milk, media preparation, daily maintenance, calibration and service of instruments.
Coach and report on Quality Lead Indicators at T1 and T2 Meetings including shelf life, CIP, COP, compliance to spec, CPMU.
Perform internal audits and site GMP and hygiene inspections Drive the site environmental swabbing programme and associated corrective actions Action customer complaint investigations and report findings to relevant parties About you Experience working as a technician in a manufacturing / FMCG environment 1-3 years Microbiological testing experience Previous exposure to HACCP / GMP / Good Laboratory Practices Strong attention to detail and great problem-solving skills Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business The Bega Group Story The Bega Group is home to many trusted and iconic food and beverage brands.
